How to organize Tripower and use the three lists... How to search for any file on your drive or network... How to use Tripower's options, functions and features... How to add files, websites, email and applications to your File List... How to organize Tripower and use the three Lists Tripower is organized like a filing cabinet system. A physical filing cabinet contains manila folders which in turn contain paper files. A Project is an electronic filing cabinet, and Topics are electronic manila folders, and the File List is a list of computer files, email address or websites. Tripower even provides the equivalent of having Manila Folders and Files laying on top of your desk. On startup you can create Topics and add files to the File List even though no Project has been selected or even created... In the above example, you double click the Project name NFL Football Teams. You will then see the Topics List which contains 11 Topics. As you press the up and down arrow keys, the list of files contained in each Topic is displayed in the File List. Double click any name listed in the File List to launch your web browser and access the selected website. You can right click your mouse over any list to access the options for that list, such as add, delete, sort, print, rename, or cut, copy and paste. Also note that each team is listed in more than one list. In fact, each team is listed in 3 different file lists. The project name NFL Football Teams contains 11 Topics, each of which contains its own organized list of team websites. Also in the included example, you will see Topics and Files listed on program startup before any Project Name is selected. This illustrates the equivalent of having Manila Folders and Files laying on top of your desk. The first row of the Topics List containing the "..." is a storage area that is the equivelent of a Miscellaneous folder. The files stored in the misc area are displayed on startup before any Topic is selected. |

List 1: Project List (Compares to Filing Cabinets): You can list up to 33,000 projects. If you could access 33,000 physical filing cabinets, you would certainly need to label and identify each of them individually, which is exactly what the Project List does. The Project List is a list of electronic filing cabinets. Each Project has its own list of Topics and each Topic has its own list of files. Physical Filing Cabinets contain Manila Folders which contain paper Files. Projects are electronic file cabinets that contain electronic manila folders called Topics, which contain computer Files. Add Project ![]() List 2: Topics List (Compares to Manila Folders in Filing Cabinet): When you create a Project and then double click the Project name your created, you can then add Topics that are linked specifically to the Project name. In other words, double click the Project name to access the Topics you create for each Project. Add Topic List 3: File List (Compares to List of Files inside Manila Folders): You can add files to the File List several ways, including a global search of your disk drive and entire network, and you can add email addresses, website URL's, photo images, video files and any type of file Windows can store. You can organize all types of files into one list rather than launching Word to find Word files, then launching Excel to find Excel files, and then launching your browser to find email addresses or websites. With Tripower you do not launch any application program, you just double click a file name in the File List and Tripower will automatically launch any program you need to run the file, find the website or launch your email program. Tripower does not move your files, Tripower organizes, lists, displays and prints your files from their current location. Add File to File List How Tripower Compares to Manila Folders and Files Laying On Top of Your Desk: At startup, no project is selected. However, you can add Topics to the Topics List and Files to the File List even though no Project is selected. This is the same as having manila folders with files inside laying on top of your desk. The Topics and Files at program startup are not linked to a Project name. You can list the Topics and Files that you use the most here because they are available immediately upon startup. Cut Copy and Paste: You can cut and paste Project and Topic names, but you cannot copy and paste Projects or Topics. This limitation is coded into Tripower to prevent unusable duplication. However you can both cut and paste or copy and paste any file or number of files from one File List to any other File List. This allows you to list the same file in any number of Topics you want. You can quickly and easily copy or cut and then paste any selected file or any number of files, from any File List to any other File List. For example, you could "lump" a long list of unorganized, non-sorted or unassociated files, email addresses, websites or other files into the startup File List and then copy or cut and then paste any selected files to another File List. Simply copy or cut, then select any Project and Topic Name, and then paste the file or files to the new File List. Tripower is user sizable up to full screen: Tripower is user-sizable from full screen down to a minimum window size preset to prevent loss of resolution and legibility. Tripower also has a factory default window size and location that can be reset at any time by clicking the green and blue double arrows in the Tool Bar (4th icon from left). When you resize the program window, the window size and location are automatically stored in an .INI file, which Tripower uses at program startup to set the size and location of the program window. The size and location settings become default settings and do not change until you again resize or relocate the program window. Simply "grab" the edges of the program window and expand the window to any size up to full screen. Tripower has been tested with screen resolutions from 800x600 up to 1440x900. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How to search for any file on your drive or network... Tripower contains search engines, tools, and options to search for and display any and all computer files you work with. You can search your disk drive and network with wildcards, such as the question mark ? and asterisk *. For example; searching with *.xls, as below, will display all Excel files currently stored on your disk drive or any network drive you specify. You can then display any file in the search list before adding it to your File List. When the global file search is complete, you can remove all unwanted files from the search list to reduce the size of the list to a more manageable level. ![]() --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How to use Tripower's options, functions and features... Tripower has a full-featured menu, a toolbar with icons, and can be used with mouse clicks and keystrokes. Click the orange icon or press the F11 key to display all of the shortcut keys. Press the F10 key to activate the Menu Bar located immediately above the Tool Bar icons. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How to add files, websites, email and applications to your File List... You can mix or match any file type in the same File List. You can list text files, video files, email, website URL's, photos or any other file compatible with Windows. You can list files according to subject or category rather than what type of file it is. And when you double click a file in the File List, Tripower automatically launches the application to display, print and manage the file. Right click your mouse over the File List to display a drop down menu. In the bottom segment of the drop down menu is all of the options to add files, email addresses, websites and the global file search that can search all files on your disk drive or network. |
